Black Sheep Farm is an agroecological farm, raising sheep on pasture for food and fibre. The farm is owned and run by Brenda Hsueh, Skyler Radojkovic, and their daughter Emma, and was started by Brenda in 2009. The farm prioritizes soil health, biodiversity, and social justice. The sheep are grazed on pasture using intensive managed grazing, to maximize the positive soil carbon capture benefits of ruminants, while producing meat, fibre, and tanned lambskins from something humans can’t eat, grass.

“The Canadian Wool Collective is important to start setting a standard for Canadian raised and processed fibres, as our current Canadian wool industry is in its relative infancy. We think the certification is important as proof that all our sheep products are wholly Canadian, both grown and processed.”
