Bittersweet Farm was established in 2000. After raising sheep for 15 years, the focus changed to wool and sustainability. Al has been exclusively breeding Gotlands since 2020.
Gotland sheep are a good size for small farms. They are very personable, easy lambers and good mothers with lustrous, curly fleece.
Bittersweet Farm is participating in an upbreeding program with the registered Gotland sheep, focusing on high quality wool. The farm has placed several times in the Wool Show at the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair that is held in Toronto, Ontario. All of their roving and yarn are processed at Wellington Fibre Mill in Ontario.
