We are Jenna and Mélanie James, bilingual (English/French) owners of Jamestead Farm. We founded our flock of purebred Border Leicester sheep in 2021 with the purchase of four ewes from Hunterdown Leicesters. Our mission: to breed exceptional Border Leicesters, with a focus on wool quality, mothering ability, growth rate, and true breed type.
We have 100% Border Leicester yarn available, made from our very own wool and processed by the wonderful Wave Fibre Mill in Ontario in a 2-ply DK weight and 3-ply worsted weight. The yarn is all natural white, undyed and available in 100g skeins but can be customized upon request.
We are also proud to offer 100% wool pillows made with wool from our own flock. The wool is processed into batts by Wave Fibre Mill, allowing us to create locally made products that showcase the quality and versatility of Canadian wool.
