We officially started our artisan mill business in 2025, after more than ten years of raising sheep and working with fibre on our farm.
We are a small-batch artisan mill working with local Ontario and Canadian wool. The connection with customers and producers is what drives us—our business name "Gezellige" captures that cozy, warm feeling we want everyone to experience when they work with us and our fibre. We enjoy the close connection with fellow sheep farmers and fibre enthusiasts as mill owners, and we love helping people find the value in their own fleeces by turning them into usable, beautiful products.
“The Canadian Wool Collective feels important to us because it’s helping rebuild a real, living Canadian wool community, not just a supply chain. It brings farmers, mills, and fibre lovers into the same conversation, which is exactly where we want to be as an artisan mill. By raising the profile and perceived value of Canadian wool, it makes it easier for us to pay producers fairly and still find customers who appreciate local fibre. It also gives small mills like ours a national voice and shared marketing platform, instead of each of us trying to do this work alone.”
