Thetis Island, British Columbia

New Wave Fibre, nestled in the scenic Gulf Islands of British Columbia, celebrates the rich heritage and future potential of locally grown wool. Founded by Jodi Schamburger and Emily McIvor, the business began as a way to process and share the wool from their flocks of Bluefaced Leicester, Cotswold cross, and Romeldale sheep, as well as angora rabbits.

New Wave Fibre has evolved into a dynamic brokerage, partnering with local farmers to transform fleece into extraordinary yarns and rovings for spinning and felting. They work with wool from a diverse array of sheep breeds, including BFL, Cotswold, Romney, Black Welsh Mountain, Suffolk, Cheviot, Dorset, Corriedale and alpacas from farms across Pender, Vancouver, and Texada Islands.

New Wave Fibre is committed to supporting local farmers by helping them find the highest use for their wool and offering support if they want to market their own yarns. Additionally, they assist designers and emerging wool businesses in sourcing local wool and developing sustainable, Canadian-manufactured supply chains.
