FARM INFO - This is a grass based, natural operation. The flock is reared on pasture year round with respect of prairie habitat and wetlands which are protected under conservation easements. Grazing season is managed with pasture rotations and lambing takes place on pasture in May/June. Winter hay feed is rolled out on pasture so that feed residue and natural fertilizer from the ewes may return to the earth. Guardian dogs are used extensively to allow for coexistence with coyotes. Wool Stone & Prairie is an artistic side hustle that resulted from the discovery that fibre could be used as an art medium.
