Jillian Barvir - jill@martylynn.com

Marty Lynn is a knitwear brand based in Alberta, dedicated to crafting timeless pieces designed to be lived in and loved. Our mission is to create knitwear using locally sourced fibers that are so natural they can return to the earth through composting at the end of their life.

We proudly partner with Canadian mills to source high-quality yarn spun from fibers grown in Canada. This commitment ensures a transparent, local supply chain that uplifts farmers and preserves traditional textile practices.

Each piece is thoughtfully designed and crafted by me, Jillian Barvir, in my tiny home studio. Using a blend of manual flatbed machine knitting and hand-knitting techniques, I create made-to-order garments that highlight the beauty of natural textiles and the quality of handcrafted items.

At Marty Lynn, we envision a vibrant local textile economy—one where farmers are fairly compensated for their care of the land, raw materials are transformed into textiles locally, and skilled artisans are celebrated for their craft.

Every certified piece is crafted in my tiny home studio in rural Alberta using a flatbed manual knitting machine and finished by hand. I work exclusively with 100% undyed Canadian wool sourced from farms across the Prairies — wool that reflects the land it comes from.

My line includes knitwear and accessories for both men and women, each designed with a classic, understated aesthetic that’s meant to withstand trends and seasons. These are garments made to be worn, repaired, and loved for years — and when their time is up, they can be returned to the earth, fully compostable.
