Rita Penner - rita@Deckel.ca

I make flatcaps and handmade socks on an antique circular knitting machine. The wool for my certified flatcaps is grown, milled, and woven in Canada (Ontario even). Same with the socks. I am building a collection of completely Canadian socks.

The whole process from raising the sheep, to shearing, cleaning fleeces, milling, weaving, and sewing are all hand processes. The revitalization of all these hand activities is important for the people who do this work. Due to good marketing, the value and importance of 'handmade' is growing well. I am honoured to be involved in this resurgence. My products are the result.
