I founded Traceable Textiles September 2023. My Masters in Weaving thesis focused on salvaging local heritage breed wool, normally considered worthless, with the intention of building a perfect yarn for handwoven blankets. The results were stupendous and inspired me to start a handwoven woolen goods business.
Parkland wool blankets are handwoven using wool that is locally grown and milled in Alberta, Canada. By selecting and blending different types of wool, we control the fine details of softness, durability, texture and drape in order to achieve a finely crafted blanket.
We are proud to produce heirloom woolens that are crafted with care, sustainability and skill. We appreciate our customers’ support of local farms, family-run mills, and the time-honoured craftsmanship that goes into making each handwoven blanket.
